Reflections Of Warriors

Dionte Montrell Freeman was a kind loving young man with a warm personality, a beautiful heart, then a smile so gorgeous that it could light up the darkest room. Before being struck down in the prime of his youth he was eager to graduate high school and go on to graduate from college so he could come back to serve his community. He enjoyed his environment and the setting of west Oakland California where he was a volunteer at the West Oakland YMCA and under the leadership and mentorship of Kwame Nitoto, he was well on his way to actualizing a very productive and community-oriented life. When Not in the company of his friends and family, he was serving the lord at the House of Restoration church also located in Oakland, California he enjoyed nature, fishing and spending time with his dogs.  He also enjoyed writing and creating lyrics to music that he hoped to one day share with the world. Though he is no longer here with us his spirit maintains a strong presence in our community.

He enjoyed telling great jokes, laughing and bringing joy to the people that he loved and who loved him. He was devoted to boxing where at one point trained with Andre Ward who is now a retired championship boxer. If not for losing him to senseless gun violence, he too may have become a world champion of boxing or President of CEO The Fortune 500 company. He determined and devoted to mental fitness, physical fitness, and spiritual fitness. At age 14 Czerney confessed his love for Christ and was baptized at The House of Restoration also located in the city of Oakland, California.
